Halloween Weekend in Thomasville

Halloween Weekend Thomasville

While Halloween falls on a weekday this year, the weekend before Halloween is a chance to celebrate all things spooky and terrifying. From Howl-O-Ween to the Ghostly Gander through the Old Cemetery, there is an event for everyone to enjoy.

Howl-O-Ween

Dog owners and dog lovers in Thomasville, Georgia, should save the date for Howl-O-Ween on October 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This pup-tastic event is perfect for dog owners, dog fanatics, and locals who want to adopt a dog. This doggy-themed event takes place at Thomasville Dog Park, located at 415 S. Pinetree Blvd.

Events and Festivities

Howl-O-Ween-goers can bring their own pooch or adopt one during the event. Thomas County Humane Society hosts the dog adoptions during the event. Howl-O-Ween is fun, free, and littered with prizes!

Contests

At 12:30 p.m., you and your pooch can take part in the costume and tricks contest. Some of the contest categories include best costume, funniest costume, and silly pet tricks. Pets and owners will also enjoy the Boo-tiful Pet Parade, as well as the Dance-A-Thon.

Demonstrations

During Howl-O-Ween, enjoy the opportunity to see both a TPD K-9 Unit demonstration and a cadaver dog demonstration.

Pamper and Pleasure

Owners and their pooches can have professional pet photos taken during the festivities. Do your pup’s claws need to be trimmed? SRTC’s Veterinary Technology Program offers free nail trimmings during the event. Your canine pal is sure to have a blast at the dog agility course, and he (or she) will go home with a belly full of dog treats. And don’t worry, snow cones, popcorn, and other treats are available for you to enjoy, as well.

Participation Requirements

To ensure everyone has a safe and grand time during Howl-O-Ween, there are a few requirements to participate. Only dogs over the age of 6 months who are up to date on vaccines and shots can take part in the event.

Anyone with questions or concerns about the event should call 229-227-7001 and ask to speak with Ashley Ivey.

Other Halloween Festivities
