Jack Hadley Black History Museum

James “Jack” Hadley was born at the Pebble Hill Plantation in 1936. After graduating high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force where he served our country for 28 years. He then worked for the U.S. Postal Service until he retired in 1997. In his spare time, Jack Hadley is an avid collector and curator of Black History Memorabilia. His collection traces back from pre-slavery to present. The Jack Hadley Black History Museum encompasses a broad spectrum of the black struggle and existence in America and black contribution in helping to build and shape America. As a member of America’s Blue Star Museums, it emphasizes Thomasville’s first black achievers, displays thousands of documents, prints, posters, and photos, as well as collectible African-American artifacts.
