Disc golf is all the rage these days. Courses are popping up around the country, giving people more and more opportunities to play. Tallahassee, Florida, is home to two disc golf courses, including the best course in the state. It’s less than an hour’s drive from Thomasville, Georgia, so you can easily hit one of these Tallahassee disc golf courses for a fun and challenging game.
Tom Brown Park Disc Golf Course
If you want to play at the best course in Florida, head to the Tom Brown Park Disc Golf Course. UDisc recognized the 24-hole course as the top in the state for two years in a row. Plus, it ranked it at 61 on its list of best courses in the country, so it’s truly a gem.
You’ll play through wooded areas during the course’s first nine holes. Then, the course opens up, although you’ll still encounter pines and live oaks as you move through the holes. Oh, and the course designer included some out-of-bounds areas to increase the difficulty.
This is an extremely popular course, so it can get busy. The weekends are exceptionally crowded, so you might have to wait a bit before you can play. Don’t let that stop you, though. Just bring a snack along in case you have to wait, and then jump in when it’s your turn. You’ll be glad that you stuck it out as soon as you take your first shot.
Jack McLean Park Disc Golf Course
You’ll also want to check out the Jack McLean Park Disc Golf Course. You’ll go through large oak trees and pines as you move from hole to hole. You can expect quite a challenge here, even if you’re an experienced disc golfer. People refer to it as a “target course,” making it the ideal spot for experienced players who want to test their skills. However, a lack of experience isn’t a reason to stay away. It’s fun for all skill levels, so be sure to head over.

You can also pick up gear at Play it Again Sports or one of the other retailers. There are tons of options, so you won’t have any trouble getting everything you need.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a novice or a pro. You will have a blast on these courses. First, get some supplies. Then, drive to the course for hours of fun.
