Who doesn’t love a good show? With Netflix and Hulu available for us to binge watch everything and anything, it is finally possible to watch all those great shows that were canceled after just one season, and boy were there many.
Let start with the most recent shows, the first being
The Grinder which aired on Fox networks through the country. It began in 2015 and starred Rob Lowe as an actor that played an attorney and then tried to become a real one after being fired from his show. The only issue was that of course he did not have a license to practice law yet everyone was so star-struck by him that verdicts were made anyways based on his questioning to witnesses, defendants and plaintiffs.
Another great show that ended to soon before its time was
Mother Up, which was a cartoon that aired only on Hulu. This show was made for adults and is about a mother who worked in the music industry as a high paid CEO working with the finest rappers. She was caught doing something just absurd in real life and moved to another town-in the suburbs. Being used to the big city Hollywood life, she now has to be responsible for her kids Dick and Apple…yes that is their names! Through out the season she comes across snobby suburban mothers and issues that rise with them and deals with each issue with a sarcastic yet hilarious approach.
One of the funniest shows yet that had a very short run of only 8 episodes is
Uncle Buck starring Mike Epps, and was a reboot of the 1989 movie that starred John Candy. It brought a wonderful aspect to the modern world and inclusiveness of black actors being able to do anything in Hollywood. The point of starring Mike Epps was simply because he could play that perfect role that Candy played without recreating a clone, which was the best part of the whole show. In this version of Uncle Buck, Mike Epps, playing the great Buck, moves in with his brother and sister in law to become manny to their three kids. Through out the hilarious 8 episodes, they all go on crazy adventures and mis-happenings that wouldn’t normally happen without Buck around. The show is about how family can and should always sick together.
