For 2017, the Scion iA will become part of the Yaris lineup since the models are very similar. The version that Scion drivers know and love will be the Yaris iA. Meanwhile, the Scion iM will be following a similar pattern by entering the Corolla lineup as the Corolla iM. This means that you will be able to choose from two body styles for the Yaris and Corolla, depending on whether you choose the traditional version of the Toyota of the new Yaris iA or Corolla iM.
Reasons for the Rename
Renaming these Scion models to include them with existing Toyota models makes sense for both the company and drivers. If you know you loved the Scion iA or iM, it will be easy to find the comparable model in the Toyota lineup since you just need to look for the model with that particular phrase in its name. This also means that Toyota will be losing fewer customers since people won’t be frustrated by the loss of their favorite model and move to a different automaker.
