Who’s in the Kitchen
In 1973, Tita and Osvaldo Pistelli left their home in Ancona, Italy, and came to America with their two boys, Danilo and Massimo. Originally, they took up residence in Tallahassee where they worked with family members at a restaurant of the same name. Four years later, they moved to Thomasville and opened the doors of their own Mom & Dad’s Italian Restaurant. 40 years later, Danilo, his wife Anna, and their children Daniella and Anthony are keeping the family legacy going. Anna whips up original recipes in her bakery every day and even takes suggestions from patrons for new menu items. Recently, she helped expand their dessert menu to be more inclusive with her gluten and dairy-free amaretti cookies. The rest of the family are behind the delicious dishes served daily in their dining room.
What’s on the Menu
The Pistelli family makes an effort to have a diverse menu that will suit everyone’s dietary needs. They have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, as well as a wide variety of traditional Italian dishes.
You can start your meal off with a vegetarian appetizer like their crispy fried zucchini and marinara or opt for crab-stuffed mushrooms. Next, try a cup of minestrone or chicken noodle soup.
For your entrée, you can share a vegetarian Margherita Pizza with fresh mozzarella cheese, basil, and olive oil. Have vegan and gluten-free spaghetti and marinara sauce. Or, have the Pistelli’s chicken marsala. If you’re in the mood for a fancy cut of meat try their Nino’s Filet cooked in an exquisite red wine sauce then topped with mushrooms, peppers, onions, and mozzarella cheese. You can even opt for a seafood dish like shrimp scampi.
