The picnic is on Saturday, April 14, starting at noon and lasting until 2:30 p.m. This timing means that most people should be able to attend if they want.

What to Expect

The South Georgia Autism Center will announce more details about the picnic as it gets closer. In the meantime, you can expect to enjoy plenty of delicious food in addition to games and fun activities designed for the whole family.

What Else to Do at Cherokee Lake

While you are at Cherokee Lake for the Annual Autism Awareness Picnic, consider taking advantage of some of the other activities this natural area has. Since the picnic doesn’t start until noon, you can enjoy the outdoors for a full morning beforehand. Go for a walk along the park’s 1-mile paved path, or bring your fishing rod and catch some fish on the lake. Or just let your children play on the playground. For a gorgeous sight, stroll through the Thomasville Rose Garden, which is right next door.
