Thomasville residents should save a few dates on their calendars next month as both the Annual Deep South Fair and the Annual Thomasville Fly-In celebrate milestone birthdays this year – their 60th and 50th, respectively. With just a small overlap on the dates and times, you can attend both events without a problem. Here’s everything you should know about these two exciting events.

60th Annual Deep South Fair

The 60th Annual Deep South Fair kicks things off at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at the Thomasville Exchange Club Fairgrounds. The gates to the fairgrounds open at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday and 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bring your family on any of these days and enjoy rides, games, commercial exhibits, arts, crafts, and more. Don’t forget to check out the demolition derby on Tuesday and Thursday nights!

Tickets and Entry Fees

The entry fee is $7 on Tuesday and Thursday and $6 on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Plus, Tuesday–Friday children under the age of 5 are free, and children under the age of 12 are free on Saturday until 6 p.m. Ride tickets cost $25 for 30 tickets, $15 for 18 tickets, or $1 per ticket. Ride armbands are available for $20 on Tuesday–Friday and $25 on Saturday. On Wednesday, tickets are buy-one-get-one-free with a coupon.

50th Annual Thomasville Fly-In

The 50th Annual Thomasville Fly-In kicks things off at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, at the Thomasville Regional Airport. Bring your family and check out tons of different aircrafts. Your children will love the candy drop, and everyone in your family will enjoy the food. Here’s the official schedule for this year’s Annual Thomasville Fly-In:

Friday: Aircraft will arrive at the airport heavily between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. You will enjoy supper at 6 p.m.

Saturday: Breakfast is available from 7–9 a.m., and hot dogs and hamburgers are available from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Your children should prepare for the candy drop at 2:30 p.m., and the spot landing contest follows at 4 p.m. Finally, you will enjoy another dinner at 6 p.m. and a bonfire at 11 a.m.
