The Event
For residents of the South Georgia area, the Oakfest Concert is one of the more popular events around St. Patrick’s Day. Hosted by The Treehouse Children’s Advocacy Center and the Oak Foundation of Thomasville, this will be the sixth year that Oakfest is held. There is quite a lineup for the festival with bands such as Doors Open, Charles Davis and The Velvet Sound, and the Mo Lowda & the Humble. There will be food trucks available as well at the event with plenty of refreshments for the evening.
It’s for the Children
While people make their jokes about doing things for the children, Oakfest is serious about helping out the kids. Proceeds from the festival aid the Thomas County Treehouse Children’s Advocacy Center. The center helps remove and keep children away from harmful situations.
