Summer is upon us, and if you’re like most of us, you have some great memories from attending summer camp as a kid. This June, make sure your kids can create great memories too at one of these fun Thomasville kids summer camps.
Camp Dawson
Each day brings new adventures and fun at Camp Dawson. The camp lasts from June 5th – June 9th and it takes place at the Thomas County Museum of History. This year marks the 65th anniversary of the founding of the Thomas County Historical Society. For the 20th year in a row, rising 3rd – 6th graders can travel through time while learning about history.
Kids will get hands-on learning experience through fun games and activities. They will learn about how science, technology, engineering, art, history, and math can be seen in the past and applied to the future. It’s a great way for kids to understand how important history is. The camp starts by teaching the kids about the evolution of our local culture through learning about the Native Americans and their impact on our community. The kids will work their way up to the modern technology of the 20th century. The campers will be able to explore both at the museum and in the surrounding neighborhoods during their time at camp. The camp lasts from 9 am – 5 pm and registration is underway now. Don’t let your kids miss out on this fun, educational experience here in Thomasville.
Project Impact
HOTC Project Impact Summer Camp is a great way for your kids to get hands on experience helping others. The camp is open to rising 6th – 9th graders and it takes place all over Thomasville. At Project Impact your children will volunteer at local nonprofit organizations in our community and help those in need. Project Impact Summer Camp takes place from Jun 12th – June 16th and it costs $75 per camper. This includes a t-shirt and lunch! This camp will teach kids the importance of helping those less fortunate and it allows them to earn 20 hours of community service. To find out more, check out their website here.
