Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival

The 22nd Annual Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival is starting Nov. 9 and ending on Nov. 19. Every day, there is a different event that is focused on the arts and wildlife. This event has a Southern flair, but it also emphasizes the culture that Georgia is known for. Each activity has a lot of significance to the area but is also educational for people of all ages.

Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival: Breakdown

The following is a breakdown of the events:

  • Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. – The Longleaf Affair is a grand black-tie dinner that is held at Sea Island.
  • Nov. 11 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. – Wildlife Encounters is an educational event that focuses on birds of prey. This is an event people of all ages can enjoy at the Thomasville Amphitheater.
  • Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. – The second annual Red Hills Rover Rally takes you through the historic and private plantations around Thomasville. The starting point will be determined, but the tour ends at Pebble Hill Plantation.
  • Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. – Afternoon in the Field has many exhibitions to see. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., there will be a concert.
  • Nov. 14 at 5:30 p.m. – From the Pines to the People will dedicate Paul Rhymer’s “Chicken Hawk” sculpture in memory of Scott Milberg, a PWAF Committee Member. The sculpture will stand in downtown Thomasville. A reception will follow the dedication and is free to the public.
  • Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. – The Women of Wildlife is a chance for the ladies to create pieces of art under the director of Carrie Penley, a renowned painter.
  • Nov. 16 at 5:30 p.m. – Out of the Woods: Cocktails & Conversations is an intimate event that allows you to hang out with some of the best lifestyle experts in the South.
  • Nov. 17 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. – The Fine Art Show: Preview Party is a black-tie event that allows patrons to view fine art and enjoy light music. You also can enjoy a dinner spread. This event is for underwriters only.
  • Nov. 17 from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. – Art After Dark is the opportunity for ticketed guests 21 and over to join underwriters in a fine art show preview. Entertainment will be available, and the Scout Plantation Market will be open.
  • Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Nov. 19 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. – The Fine Art Show & Sale will take place at the Thomasville Center for the Arts and will feature 65 painters, sculptors, jewelers, carvers, and artisans.
  • Nov. 18 at 10:30 a.m. – The Creative Covey: Floral Workshop at the Thomasville Center for the Arts is the place to learn how to create wildlife-inspired floral arrangements.
  • Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. – The Bird Dog Bash Featuring Bleu Burden is a celebration of art and sporting life, which will take place at Pebble Hill Plantation.
  • Nov. 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Nov. 19 at 1 p.m. – Beguiled by the Wild is a great fine art show and sale with youth activities available during the show at the Thomasville Center for the Arts. Admission is free.
  • Nov. 19 at 10:30 a.m. – After the Hunt Brunch is an underwriters-only event at the Thomasville Center for the Arts Courtyard.
