What’s New at the Tallahassee Museum?
The Tallahassee Museum welcomed three new guests in March 2021, and they’ll be there through the summer or longer. They are African civets and look like a mixture of raccoons and cats. They hail from Plant City’s Zooville, USA, so you’ll want to see them while they are here.
The museum also rebuilt its aviary, which Hurricane Michael damaged in 2018. Stop by to see owls, hawks, and eagles play in the new waterfalls, pools, trees, and perches. The new aviary is quite the sight to see, and you’ll be mesmerized while watching the birds. Plus, the new aviary makes the birds more visible to guests, so you can spot your favorites without any problem.
Take a Stroll Down Elevated Boardwalks
You can see so much more than African civets and birds when you visit the Tallahassee Museum. Walk along the elevated boardwalks, where you’ll come across a variety of exhibits. You’ll enjoy each one, but some stand out. The bears, panthers, and wolves are always thrilling to see, and they are in abundance here. Whether you are hanging out with kids or adults, you can expect to ooh and aah each time you encounter a new species.
Get Wild on a Tree-to-tree Adventure
You can do more than walk around and see wildlife at the Tallahassee Museum. If you have an adventurous spirit, check out the tree-to-tree adventures. Plan ahead by wearing closed-toed shoes, or you won’t be able to zip through the trees. Then, head to the zip-line area, where you’ll receive instructions and equipment. Then, away you’ll go! If you’re traveling with little kids, they can take on an introductory course that’s close to the ground but still full of fun, excitement, and obstacles. Plus, they can embark on the kid-friendly zip line while you tackle a bigger course created for adults.
