Big Oak Park and Gazebo

The Big Oak Park and Gazebo is located in the Thomasville historic district at the corner of Monroe and Crawford streets. This is a charming park that is home to Thomasville’s oldest and most valued natural landmark, The Big Oak. This is a great place for a picnic – or you can rent it out for weddings and small events. Stop by this spring and get a close up look at the Big Oak and enjoy a nice, warm day in the fresh air.

Balfour Park and Thomasville Dog Park

Balfour Park is a beautiful, small park that is equipped with a covered shelter, picnic tables, a grill, playground equipment, tennis courts, exercise stations, and restrooms. Adjacent to Balfour Park is the Thomasville Dog Park. Here, your furry family members can enjoy some exercise off the leash and make some new doggy friends. The park has 3 different play areas – one for small dogs, one for medium dogs, and one for large dogs. Your dogs can also try the obstacle course!

Cherokee Lake Park

Cherokee Lake Park is one of the city’s most scenic recreation spots. A one-mile paved and lighted walking path winds around the lake with several piers and sitting areas along the way. Small boats and fishing are allowed here as well. The park is equipped with several covered pavilions, grills, restrooms and a playground with new equipment for the children. Adjacent to the park is the Thomasville Rose Garden, which blooms from early spring to late fall. The gazebo at the rose garden is available for small events and weddings.

MacIntyre Park

MacIntyre Park is another one of Thomasville’s beautiful parks. This park is particularly beautiful in this time of the year with lots of blooms and big, old trees. At the park, you’ll find playground equipment, picnic tables, and a Disc Golf Course. If you like disc golf then come out on Saturday mornings to play with some other enthusiasts.
