As spring comes into full swing, we’re all getting excited for one of the most exciting events of the year here in Thomasville. Make your plans and get your tickets now for the Clay Road Classic and Due South Festival.
This weekend is going to be so much fun. Clear your calendar for April 12 and 13, because you’re going to have so much to do!
Thomasville Clay Road Classic
The big event is the 2nd annual Thomasville Clay Road Classic, a cycling ride hosted by Hubs and Hops Bike Shop and Tap Room. You can choose between 10-mile, 20-mile, 50-mile, and 100-mile bike routes. And these will be beautiful rides along interconnecting clay roads.
All the rides will start from the Bike Shop and the Ritz Amphitheater on the morning of April 13. Start times will be staggered throughout the morning, but the first ride will leave at 7:30 a.m.
When you register for the ride, you get a lot for your money. You’ll receive an event t-shirt and dinner Friday night as well as live music and a cycling presentation by former pro cyclist Tom Danielson. Then Saturday you’ll get breakfast, and a post-ride meal. All that comes with the $35 registration price. For $50, you get all those perks plus a ticket to the Due South Festival and Concert and a coupon for your next purchase at Hubs and Hops.
Due South Festival
Whether you go for the ride or not, there is plenty of fun to be had as part of the Due South Festival. Earlier in the week you can try out a cooking and mixology class, a kids cooking class, or even a singer-songwriter performance night.
The big finale for the week will be Saturday night, April 13, at the Ritz Amphitheater. You won’t want to miss the Due South Concert. Starting at 5 p.m., you’ll hear live music from Teddy and the Rough Riders and T. Hardy Morris. Finish off the night with headliner Nikki Lane.
